MATT FEUER

For over 26 years, Matt has brought his enthusiasm, creative energy, instinct, and independent judgment to his practice as an attorney recruiter and trusted advisor to law firms and law departments of companies. His matches of candidates with clients demonstrate a thoughtful balance between business imperatives, career objectives and interpersonal dynamics. After working in the management consulting and legal search fields for several years, Matt co-founded McClure & Feuer in 1995, a firm dedicated solely to attorney search.

Matt recruits attorneys on behalf of law firm boutiques to multinational law firms with operations in California. He has helped clients search for and hire top legal talent in order to establish new offices in San Francisco and Silicon Valley and he has facilitated a number of law firm mergers. Matt has successfully recruited numerous partner groups as well as individual partner, of counsel and associate attorneys from all primary practice disciplines.

In his work with companies, Matt has recruited lawyers for positions throughout typical law departments ranging from corporate counsel to general counsel. Past engagements have included companies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area in industries such as e-commerce, internet, satellite, hardware, semiconductor manufacturing, software, telecommunications, biotechnology, construction and homebuilding.

Matt frequently speaks at industry forums on attorney hiring and retention. Past speaking engagements include: Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California, Berkeley; Golden Gate University School of Law, San Francisco; Association of Corporate Counsel, Bay Area Chapter; Barristers Club of San Francisco; and Bay Area Legal Recruitment Association. He is also featured among 16 leading recruiters in The Art & Science of Legal Recruiting: Legal Search Experts on What Recruiters, Clients, & Candidates Need to Know to Win Successful Placements in Today's Legal Market (Aspatore Books, March 2005).

Matt has been recognized in 2017 and 2016 as one of Lawdragon’s 100 Leading Legal Consultants and Strategists. This list, comprised of advisors whom lawyers call upon for their niche expertise stands as a leading resource for experts whom lawyers trust across the United States.

An active member of his community, Matt has served in leadership roles on the boards of George Hall Elementary School Site Council, Khadra International Folk Ballet, Unitarian Universalists of San Mateo, and Homework Central. He spent 10 seasons coaching youth soccer. Matt has since become completely obsessed with road cycling and just about anything else that gets him outside.

Matt received his M.A. degree in Political Science from Northwestern University in 1984 and B.A. degree in Political Science from Santa Clara University in 1980.
